Traveller Reviews
“Adding Ranthambore to the Golden Triangle was the best decision — we saw a tigress with two cubs on the morning safari and the whole jeep went silent. The Taj at sunrise two days earlier was just as magical. Seven days felt perfectly paced, never rushed. Faultless logistics throughout.”
“A brilliant mix — Mughal monuments, a real tiger safari, and a full day in Jaipur from Amber Fort to the Jal Mahal. The Monkey Temple stop on the way to Jaipur was a lovely surprise. Our guides were exceptional in every city, and the jungle lodge at Ranthambore was a highlight. Couldn’t recommend it more.”
Frequently Asked Questions
This itinerary adds two full days at Ranthambore National Park — and two tiger safaris — to the classic Golden Triangle. You still see all the Delhi, Agra and Jaipur highlights at an unhurried pace (a full Delhi day, the Taj at sunrise, a full Jaipur day), but between Agra and Jaipur you break the journey for a genuine wildlife experience in one of India’s best tiger reserves, with temple stops at Galta Ji and Birla Mandir on the way into Jaipur.
You have two game drives — typically a morning and an afternoon safari — into the reserve in a shared jeep (6 seats) or canter (20 seats), each accompanied by a park guide and driver. Zones are allocated by the forest department. Ranthambore has one of India’s healthiest tiger populations and sightings are common, but this is wild nature — we can never guarantee a tiger. Even without one, the park, birdlife and the historic Ranthambore Fort make every drive worthwhile. The core park is usually closed 1 July–30 September (monsoon).
Hotels are not included in the base price but can be arranged. We work with vetted 3-star, 4-star and 5-star properties in both Agra and Jaipur. Share your preference when enquiring and we’ll include hotel options in your quote. Agra 5-star options include properties with direct Taj Mahal views from the room.
Entry fees are not included in the base tour price and are paid on-site. Your guide will tell you exactly what each monument costs before you enter — there are no surprises. Entry fee costs for foreign nationals are available from us on request.
October to March — cool, dry and clear across all three cities. November to February is the prime season. April to June is hot (Delhi can reach 45°C) but manageable in an AC car. July to September (monsoon) brings rain but also lush greenery and thinner crowds at the monuments.
Absolutely — we build all Golden Triangle tours to your preferences. Common additions include Fatehpur Sikri en route to Agra, Mehtab Bagh (the sunset garden opposite the Taj), Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur, or extra time at any site. Just mention it when you enquire.
The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday. We always confirm your travel dates avoid a Friday before building the itinerary — this is handled automatically when you book with us.
