October to March — cool, clear weather across all five cities. November through February is peak season. The Ranthambore tiger reserve closes from July to September (monsoon). April to June is hot but the safari is open and accommodation rates are lower.

But whether or not a tiger crosses your path, the landscape, ancient fortress ruins, lakes and birdlife make the safari genuinely extraordinary.
