What Does a Golden Triangle Tour Actually Cost?
Short answer: a private Golden Triangle tour with us starts at $189 per person for three days and $219 for four. That covers the private car, driver and licensed guides in each city. Hotels and monument entry fees are quoted on top, which is why a like-for-like comparison with an all-in package price is rarely a fair one. Below is what sits inside the number and what does not.

Starting Prices
| Itinerary | From, per person |
|---|---|
| 3 days / 2 nights | $189 |
| 4 days / 3 nights | $219 |
| 5 days / 4 nights | $239 |
| 6 days / 5 nights | $259 |
Starting prices, checked September 2026. Your actual per-person cost depends on how many of you are travelling, which hotels you choose and when you come — the three things covered further down.
What the Price Includes
- Private air-conditioned car for the entire journey, with your own driver — every intercity transfer and all sightseeing
- English-speaking licensed guides in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur — a different local expert in each city, not one escort for the whole trip
- All vehicle, toll and driver expenses
- Bottled water throughout
- All applicable taxes
What It Does Not Include
- Hotels. Quoted separately so you can pick the tier you want — 3-star, 4-star or 5-star in Agra and Jaipur
- Monument entry fees. Paid on site; your guide tells you each cost before you go in
- Meals. Your guide will point you at the good places
- Tips for your guide and driver
We separate these deliberately. A single headline figure with hotels buried inside it hides which hotel you are actually getting, and that is where a cheap-looking package usually turns out to be cheap.
The Four Things That Move the Price
1. How many of you are travelling
This is the biggest factor, and it works in a way that surprises people. The car is priced as a car, not as a seat. Two people travelling together split the same vehicle, driver and guide that six people would share.
| Vehicle | Group size |
|---|---|
| Toyota Etios | Up to 2 guests |
| Toyota Innova | Up to 5 guests |
| Tempo Traveller | 6 to 12 guests |
| Urbania coach | Up to 17 guests |
So the per-person cost falls as the group grows. A solo traveller pays more per person than a couple; a couple pays more than a family of five. If you are travelling alone, ask us directly rather than working from the starting price.
2. Which hotels you choose
Three tiers, in both Agra and Jaipur. Three-star is clean, well-located and close to the monuments. Four-star brings heritage properties and boutique hotels. Five-star means the Taj, Oberoi, ITC and similar — and in Agra, rooms with a direct view of the Taj Mahal. This is the single widest swing in any quote: the same itinerary can double in price on hotels alone.
3. When you travel
October to March is peak season across all three cities — cool, dry and clear, and priced accordingly. April to September is cheaper, and the touring is just as good if you plan around the heat and the monsoon. Our month-by-month guide goes through what each month is actually like.
4. What you add
Fatehpur Sikri on the Agra to Jaipur road, Mehtab Bagh for the sunset view across the river, extra time in Jaipur, airport extensions. Each is quoted as a line rather than folded into the total.
Monument Entry Fees

Entry fees are paid at each monument rather than bundled into the tour price. The one worth knowing in advance is the Taj Mahal: a foreign visitor’s ticket is ₹1,100, with a further ₹200 to go inside the mausoleum itself. That second charge catches people out — it is optional, it is collected separately, and plenty of visitors first hear about it standing at the entrance.
Delhi, Agra and Jaipur each have their own fees for the sites on your itinerary. We list them in your quote so the total is visible before you travel, and your guide confirms each one before you go in. Our guide to buying Taj Mahal tickets online covers the booking process.
Why the Extra Days Cost So Little
Look again at the ladder. Three days to four is $30. Four to five is $20. Five to six is another $20. The whole span from a three-day trip to a six-day one is $70 per person.
That is because the expensive parts — getting the car and driver on the road, the guides, the airport pickup — are largely fixed. An extra day adds fuel, a day of driver and guide time and one more night, not another whole trip.
Which makes the decision less about money than most people assume. If four days versus five comes down to $20 and one night of hotel, the question is really how much time you have, not what it costs. We have set out what actually separates three days from four and what a four-day itinerary covers day by day if that is the call you are weighing up.
How to Read Any Golden Triangle Quote
Whoever you end up booking with, these are the questions that expose the real cost:
- Is the vehicle private or shared? A seat on a coach and a private car are different products at similar headline prices.
- Are monument entry fees in or out? If they are out, ask for the list and the amounts.
- Which hotels, by name? “4-star” is not an answer. The property name is.
- One guide for the whole trip, or a local guide in each city?
- Are there shopping stops on the itinerary? Emporium visits exist because the guide earns commission on them. They cost you hours at the sites you came to see. We pay our guides a fixed fee so there is no reason to take you anywhere you did not ask to go.
- What is not in the price? Ask it plainly, and ask for the answer in writing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Golden Triangle tour cost?
Our private Golden Triangle tours start at $189 per person for 3 days, $219 for 4 days, $239 for 5 days and $259 for 6 days. That covers private transport, driver and licensed local guides in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Hotels and monument entry fees are quoted separately.
Are hotels included in the Golden Triangle tour price?
No. Hotels are quoted separately so you can choose between 3-star, 4-star and 5-star properties in Agra and Jaipur. This is usually the widest variable in a quote.
Are Taj Mahal tickets included?
No, monument entry fees are paid on site. A foreign visitor ticket for the Taj Mahal is 1,100 rupees, plus 200 rupees more to enter the mausoleum itself. Your quote lists the fees for every monument on your itinerary.
Is a Golden Triangle tour cheaper for a group?
Yes. The car is priced per vehicle rather than per seat, so the per-person cost falls as the group grows. A solo traveller pays more per person than a couple, and a couple more than a group of six sharing the same vehicle and guides.
When is the cheapest time to do the Golden Triangle?
April to September is cheaper than the October to March peak season. The touring is still good if you plan around the heat and the monsoon rain.
